When the storm passed, the sea wasn’t the only thing broken.

Hurricane Melissa left behind more than damaged boats and flooded beaches — it shook the heart of Jamaica’s coastal livelihood.
Our fisherfolk, who brave the sea daily to bring us fresh lobster, shrimp, and Fish, now face the challenge of rebuilding from scratch.

At Oyster Bay Bistro, our connection to these communities runs deep. Without their courage and craft, the sea could never truly meet your plate.
That’s why we’ve launched the Fisherfolk Rebuild Fund — to help them get back on the water, restore their gear, and keep Jamaica’s seafood heritage alive.

  • Repairing boats and fishing Pots

When the storm passed, many of our fisherfolk were left with shattered boats and tangled traps — the very tools that sustain their families. Through your donations, we’re helping them rebuild from the shore up: repairing hulls, mending nets, and restoring their ability to return to the sea. Every repaired boat is a step toward independence, resilience, and hope for Jamaica’s fishing communities.

  • Replacing nets & engines

In the wake of the storm, many families lost not only their boats but their homes and basic supplies. Your generosity provides immediate relief — food to share, fuel for light and warmth, and materials to repair roofs and rebuild comfort. Together, we’re ensuring no fisher or family is left behind in this recovery.

Our Community in Focus

Stories from the shore — rebuilding with heart.

Every Plate Helps Rebuild Lives

The sea sustains us — and now it’s our turn to sustain those who make it possible.

Each Seafood Saturday and selected menu item throughout the season contributes directly to the Fisherfolk Rebuild Fund. A portion of every sale goes toward repairing boats, replacing gear, and supporting families affected by Hurricane Melissa.

When you dine with us — whether in person or through online ordering — you’re not just enjoying a meal; you’re helping rebuild livelihoods across Jamaica’s fishing communities.

Rain or shine, the flavour’s fine — and the purpose runs deep.
